They had a set of scales at the NorPac Divisional SCCA autoX in Atwater, CA this weekend.
My car was setup for autoX, you know, the usual removal of the spare tire, floormats, and CD
changer. Some of you know what else is on my car (97 1.8TQM), but here's the list: H&R
coilovers, K&N, Wett 1.0 bar, 17" Anteras w/225/45/17 g-Force R1's, and a Schroth Rallye 4
harness (driver's side only). Oh, and the gas tank was half full.
Weights:
Front Left: 1028 lbs
Front Right: 928 lbs
Rear Left: 654 lbs
Rear Right: 679 lbs
Both Front: 1956 lbs
Both Rear: 1333 lbs
Both Left: 1682 lbs
Both Right: 1607 lbs
Total Weight: 3289 lbs
A tad heavier than I thought, but pretty close. A total lardo compared to the other cars I race
against in C Street Prepared (2200 lb Miatas, 2100 CRX's, 2200 lb Corollas, 3200 lb M3's,
2400 lb Civics, etc.).
Anyway, the Divisional was fun, gives you a taste of what nationals is like. It is fairly formal, with
six course audits during each run groups. Audits were for comparing cone violation locations
recorded in the timing trailer with those that were recorded on course. There were many other
little things that made this event more formal than our regional events (SFR Region).
CSP was one of the biggest classes over the weekend (I think there were 14). 1st place went to
last years CSP national champ, Tom Ellam. 2nd went to Navid in a fast M3. And 3rd went to
yours truly. I went balls to the wall to give us Audi folks a good rep. :-)
Corey S
97 Wett 1.8tqm

Corey's A4 Page
