Does anyone know if the S4 colours are the same as the A4. In particular, is the Light Silver the same as the A4 Aluminum Silver Metallic?

Marcus Frost 06-10-1999, 02:53 PM In answer to your first question - yes the silver is the same, but that is because on A4s, they no longer make them in aluminum silver metallic, the A4s are also made in Light Silver (99.5s and on have it)
Now the S4 colors do match the NEW a4 colors - (santorin blue, brilliant black, laser red, etc) However there are colors that are exclusive to the S4 - namely Nogaro Blue & Imola Yellow. These colors are only made on S4s and not any other model here in the US.
Hope this helps.
Marcus Frost
99.5 1.8TQM [On Order] Dennis 06-10-1999, 04:10 PM Roger B 06-10-1999, 04:26 PM No, Light Silver is a new color which replaced Aluminum Silver starting with the 99.5 model change.
As befits its name, Light Silver is indeed lighter than the Aluminum Silver which seems to a have blue undertone to it. Many people on the board seem to like the Light Silver better than the Aluminum Silver, but the new color seems to have a beige undertone to it that does not suit my tastes.
Still, the A4 is still striking in either shade but since Silver is the most popular color be prepared to see a lot of other A4s in that color.
- Rog
'99 'Old School' Aluminum Silver 2.8QMS jee 06-10-1999, 05:31 PM I really wanted the aluminum silver (that blue hue looks really nice in different lighting conditions). The light silver seems to be Audi's take on mixing pearl white with silver. It's nice but it's too much on the warm side.
Anyway, talked to one of my dealers and he's already ordered six S4s. Five in silver, one in santorin blue. My other dealer ordered one in silver. Looks like silver is the winner thus far where I come from. Josh 06-11-1999, 10:26 AM |
