View Full Version : Anyone try the info-mmercial 'California squeege'? Does it work? Know the number? tjj 06-10-1999, 08:08 AM Andy Hedin 06-10-1999, 08:12 AM Conker 06-10-1999, 08:15 AM I use an "absorber" which comes in a plastic tube... it's synthetic and I cannot believe how well it works. I have used many products, this one simply does the job the best I've seen yet. $10.00 at Pep Boys.
Conker 98 1.8TS-tip TAP .8 JimSr 06-10-1999, 08:32 AM Sold at Pep Boys as the "California Water Blade," made by the Cal Car Cover people, who also make the Cal Car Duster. The blade is about a foot long, of surgical grade silicone with a "T" shape on the end. It is really pliable and clears surfaces well - just need one towel now to catch missed spots. Around $20. Use it all the time... Eventhough those products won't put fine scratches on the finish, any dust or dirt will get dragged under those products and thus create those "spiderweb" looking scratches. For me, I also dab with cotton terry cloth towels. I do, however, use a sqeegy to wipe water off the windows.
Drew
waiting for my S4 with an 98 A4 2.8 for sale. state 06-10-1999, 12:26 PM I really like mine. It was purchased from a "Pep Boys" in SOCAL and ran about $18.00. It doesn't scratch at all for reasons already mentioned. I too like the absorber and typically use both when drying the car.
Regards,
Searl MarkG 06-11-1999, 12:06 PM I have a brilliant black A4 and the Absorber leaves streaks. It doesn't fully get the water off. You will notice this on your windows. It's the same everywhere but you won't notice it on light paints. The P21s Drying towel from Car Care Specialties works better. The P21s is sticky the first time you use it but it breaks in. The Absorber is probably fine on light colored cars though.
Mark (98.5 2.8 QMS) |
