I have a 97 A4TQ with the leatherette interior and have a crack or split developing on the driver seat. It is on the left side of the bottom part of the seat, where you usually make the most contact when getting in and out of the car. Has anyone else had this problem? and if so is there a way to have it fixed, or better yet would it be covered under warranty??!! I bought the car in may of 97 so it is not really that old!!(14,300 mi) If I weighed 300-400 pounds I could understand how this could possibly happen in this short of time, but I only weigh 220 (unless I just ate!!).
Any Ideas or comments would be appreciated!!!! I would prefer a reply via email but either way is fine.

Yes, I had the same problem and the dealer brought in the technical advisor to look at it. He acknowledged it was a factory defect and ordered a new lower seat cover (leatherette).
You should insist on their replacing it. Contact Audi of America directly if you have to but dont lose your temper, just be persistent.

I got the same problem on my 1997 1.8T. The dealer replaced the bottom driver seat under warranty. Good luck!!
