Well, I finally did what I knew would happen and lost the gas cap. Now my check engine light is on. Is this really bad, should I not drive my A4 unless it is to the dealer to get a new cap?? (which I will be figuring out a way to "strap it" to the car so this doesn't happen again) Why the hell would they not have a strap on there to begin with is beyond me. I would say it's the only flaw the A4 has. So, will it hurt my car to run it a couple days without a gas cap? thanks in advance!
21stcdb

The gas tank must be air tight if not the check engine light comes on. It should be ok to drive the car for a few days.
Next time put it no the filler door it has an indentation.
Reinhart
