Well, Custom Car Stereo here in Houston did it! The Clifford Concept 60 & the factory "convenience/security/sunroof" package on my 98 are full partners.
When arming, the concept 60 & the factory alarm arm together, so I get the LED's on the doors & the 60's LED (I went ahead & spent a bit extra to get them to make a custom plexiglass trim ring for the radio that has both the LED & the "plain-view valet switch" for the 60.).
When disarming, pushing the main button unlocks the driver door (and disarms both alarms). Push the channel 2 button & all doors unlock. Push & hold channel 2 button, all windows roll down (have to roll 'em up with the key or with window buttons..)
With the exception of the installer accidently pulling out a plug that connects the headlight stalk switch (leaving me without headlights temporarily), the whole thing was flawless (Took it back yesterday for an hour or so to fix the headlights).
Additionally, I remade the panel that I used to hold my EQ (if you followed the stereo threads, I removed the ashtray/lighter unit & put in a 1/2 DIN EQ). Got the 1/2" drill bit out & now the glass break mic sensor is flushed in just below the EQ. (They wanted $150 to do a custom piece from plexiglass...I'd done it once before, so I figured I'd save some dough...Used poplar, sanded, rounded edges, smoothed with putty to get rid of the wood grain (missed this the first time), then hit it with black laquer paint. Matches amazingly well)
So, to make a long story longer...it can be done.
If you're in Houston, call Chris (he knows Audi's) at 713-981-8455...Doc did the install (and complained bitterly...and humorously...at the eccentricities of Audi the whole time!) Best quote was Doc telling me about calling Clifford to get wiring diagram help for the A4 & having the Clifford guy say "lots o' luck..." & hanging up before Doc could ask any more questions. Luckily, he got the right info & is a pretty competent installer.
steve....will keep y'all up to date as I continue to live with the alarm system...

I order to successfully pilfer a car, you must be swift. I don't care how good you think you are, you are not going to swiftly steal an Audi. And if you were actually a good theif, you wouldn't want to take an Audi. What would you do with it??? Have fun trying to sell stolen parts for this car...

My Clifford Intelliguard 800-IQ uses the channel 2 in 2 ways: armed & disarmed. Sounds like they integrated the disarmed mode to unlock the doors, (1/2 sec. pulse or triggered as long as you hold it) but.. the 800-IQ uses button 2 to, let's say, turn on the headlights for a period of time, once you've armed the alarm and press button 2.
I used this output, wired to the same wire that locks the doors (uses diodes!), and set the timer to how long it takes to close the sunroof/windows, plus 2 sec. This is the timer that is used in the system, and is easily programmable.
So, basically, Button 2 is:
(armed) - rolls windows up and closes sunroof
(disarmed) - press and release; unlocks doors.. press and hold, windows down.. same as yours.
I did this 'cos I didn't want the windows going up every time I arm the system, since I keep the sunroof vented in the summer. (I think channel 4 on the 800 can be set to go 'hot' every time you arm it.)
This may not be the same with your system, but ask about (if there is) an output from channel 2 while the system is armed.
I put the valet switch in the unused location for the diagnostic connector in the rear ashtray, by the way.
E-mail me if you want more info.... I did the install myself (as always!)
Rich Quinlan
Safe & Sound 1.8tqms
(Glass, 2-zone perimeter, 3-way immobilzer, battery backup, etc, etc...)

Quinland
