Just saw the movie October Sky (an excellent movie by-the-way, the complex relationship
between father and son admirably treated, among other things).
However, doing some research on the Werner Von Braun I discovered that he built the
V2 rockets for Hitler. The V2 was called the A4 before Hitler re-named it V2 (Vengeance 2),
and used it against the Allies.
Our beloved A4 may have had a darker past!

Yea, look in the registry under my car, and I nick-named my A4 "a light pressure (.8 bar) V2 Rocket" last year....although...that could offend some people.
Christian J. Long

The Navy's A4 Skyhawk fighter/bomber was a mainstay of carrier operations until the F-18 took over that role. I even considered getting the personalized license plate "SKYHAWK", except that hardly anyone would get it. FYI, the A4 Skyhawk is the plane used in the movie Top Gun by the trainers to simulate Russian MiGs (not the supposed real MiGs in the film, though--they were American F-5's).
