Hi Guys,
After 2 weeks of searching for the right dealership and the right price, I finally made my choice- Rector in Burlingame, CA. We ( me and the salesperson) agreed for 5% over invoice for my future baby.
I just called him today to make an appointment so I can place the actual order. For my surprise he told me that he is not going to be able to order a 1999 model. He has to order a 2000 model.
My question is: Do you know what will the difference be between the 1999 and 2000 models? I was still told that I would get the 5% over invoice.
TIA,
Dimitre
p.s. The salesman told me to expect about 2% increase.
2% increase is chump change. what? about 200 bucks? i heard the 2000 is for sure going to get the airbag curtain which i think is for both front and rear passengers. also the in-dash cd player and all the underpinning tweaks the euro cars have. also, supposed to get a keyless trunk, different rims on sport package, and more conventional lighting for the dash--which sucks in my opinion. my question is, will it still have the tape player?
ps...don't drive your A4 the way vic does.

Here are a list of new items for the A4 for 2000:
Audi Navigation System is an option
SIDEGUARD curtain airbag system is an option
Xenon lights are an option
India Red is a new color
New 16" 10 spoke wheels come with Sport Package
Trip computer is no longer listed as an option, so it's possible that it's standard equipment on the 2000 models, but don't quote me on that.
The in-dash CD player is rumored to be a standard option, but there has been no confermation one way or the other. I suspect that it will be in the 2000 models. The mechanical changes that are on the Euro models should now "offically" be on the 2000 models if they wern't already.
As far as I know, prices have not been released on these new options, so don't be surprised if your dealer doesn't have pricing. If your dealer does have pricing for these new options let me know!
Matt
