Last week while turning into a sharp inclined driveway, I heard a LOUD pop in the rear passengerside wheelwell. Now, there's alot of rattling. I thought the Neuspeed springs were the cause since I've gotten alot of "Boings" coming from that particular spring but the shock/spring/bolts all checkout OK. Listening to the noise while in the backseat, the noise is coming from behind the passenger seat, not the wheelwell. Most likely the swaybars (not set on the firmer setting)/subframe. The uplinks are OK. I'll have to check it out later. Oh well.
Drew

Greg Woo of Neuspeed is sending me those sway bar support pieces soon....or so he told me. I will let you know how they look/work/feel.
Steve S.
97 2.8QM

I had my rear sway bar mounting bolts come loose and heard the loud banging sound each time the sway bar shifted (usually in turns).
HTH
Bert

Please let me know as well. I've had this suspension setup since it first came out. I've already taken it back once to Neuspeed and Aaron adjusted it for me. However, the intermittent noise has returned.
When I go up driveways -- usually while making a right turn up a driveway, I hear this BOING! or flexing sound. It doesn't always happen but it does happen enough to cause me concern.
Are those items that Neuspeed sending you a means of "fixing" this problem? I appreciate any help and info that you may have.
Thanks.

I had Neuspeed sport springs installed for a short time and experienced the same "boing" sound when making turns up driveways. Left turns produced the sound at the left rear. Right turns produced the sound at the right rear.
I did not install the Neuspeed swaybars and had the sound constantly. I've been told that those who have aftermarket swaybars heard the sound intermittently or less pronounced. My guess is it has something to do with the additional rigidity provided by the swaybars or lack thereof with the stock bars in combination with the springs.
I eventually replaced the Neuspeed springs with H&R sports and have not had the sound since.
There have been several reports of this exact same behavior and Neuspeed is aware of the issue. There was no solution in sight so I swapped the springs.
Sean
97 1.8Tqm

H&R fixed Neuspeed problem? I thought H&R made Neuspeed? Still looking for the remedy!

Neuspeed is working with someone else in Germany now...I forget the name...but I think it is the same guys that H&R works with. I could be wrong though...my alheimers (sp?) is kickin in. I got this info from Neuspeed directly.
Steve S.
97 2.8QM

Per Neuspeed, the Neuspeed springs are made for them by a company called Gruber which is located in Germany. I don't know who makes the H&R springs. I will say that the two sets of springs were virtually identical in height and coil shape. That says nothing about spring tension, however.
Sean
97 1.8Tqm

The other possibility is that the spring is banging against itself. This was a problem on my H&R coilovers. Solved by putting a Radio Shack wire holder on the spring where it goes from fully to partially compressed. HTH
Chris
