Granted there was only about a half-inch of acumulation at the time I ventured out, but "wow" how nice! What a feeling of confidence...no, I'm not getting cocky. I couldn't believe the fact that I could still accelerate like normal...from a dead stop...even up hills! You don't have to worry about "slowly putting your right foot down on the gas pedal...just press it down like normal and...you're off! Moreover, around corners the car just stuck to the road! Yes, I'm running snows...the Pirelli Winter 210A's in 205/55 16" on my stock 7-spokers. I can't wait to drive to work tomorrow morning! I'm sure the roads will be fine by then, though! =(
In my opinion, especially if you live where it snows(I live in CT) and/or you ski at all...go for the quattro. As articles/reports have stated, it's a steal at $1650!
JT 99' 1.8Tqms

I was amazed how the quattro plowed through the drifts and stabilized handling on the ice.
Everyone was 'launching' their cars into our parking lot in order to attempt to get through the deep stuff. The parking lot was scattered with cars parked at various angles.
No problem for me. I drove in and out without spinning a tire.
Have Fun!
TGB
