Local rat shack doesn't have 50V lamp silicon micromini diode (276-110).
They did have 276-1101: 50V silicon micromini diode (notice: no LAMP)
Now, being a chemE...i know squat about diodes...will this work or should I call around for the 276-110?
Thanks a bunch...
steve

and if you look on my updated web site, it's the precisely same part number :-)
Again, ANY diode will do. The micromini is just so that you don't buy a honkin' 110V, 100A diode :-)
Hope it works for you - send me email if you have questions.
- Stan
As my web page says, any LED will do. All you need is that it has at least 1000mcd output, is red, and 5mm in diameter. The rest (the resistor) can be computed with the formula on my web site.
I heard already from several other people here who used a different kind or number of LEDs. As long as the math is right and you are happy, you are set!
Cheers,
- Stan
