Has anyone who's lowered their A4 with sport springs encountered higher wear on the inside of the front tires? I know when I lowered my previous car, it caused an increase in negative camber on the front tires causing the insides to wear out prematurely. Let me know, as I'm planning on lowering my new A4.

I also had it aligned after the install (very important when lowering). No uneven wear in 14000 miles.
CraigB

Does the A4 have adjustable front camber? If not, an alignment would not fix the negative camber.

. . .isn't adjustable for pos./neg., It can be shifted left/right to even the camber between sides. I believe that rear camber can be adjusted a bit, though.

I have H&R spring only (At the time I got them, I couldn't find shocks... sad) which lower my car about 2 inches. I abandoned Bridgestone RE71 (225/45 17) after I ran them 20000 miles because of uneven wear, and I saw "inside stuff" because they were worn out so badly. I did get wheels aligned, but the technician at the dealership said especially the rear wheels' camber is not adjustable and said I got TONS of negative camber at the rear wheel.
Terra Byun
97 A4 2.8QMS

I have had my camber adjusted before...I am currently at about 1.5" degrees negative camber in the front. I am gonna try to get some negative camber in the rear now.
Steve S.
97 2.8QM

I too have some negative camber in the front (a little more than one degree) after lowering the car and doing the alignment. I've that tell tale inside edge wear, which is more pronounced now that I've got 17" rims. My car is about 1.5-1.75" lower than the stock 97 ride height.
Sharon

That way, you'll roll up onto the rest of the tire and get more "grin factor" 8^)

Did they adjust the setting itself or just the side-to-side balance? The techs I've spoken to don't acknowledge any way to do more, although I think that it should be adjustable, if only by the design of the suspension. Maybe we need (and don't have?) eccentric bushings. If you know, I'm curious.
They did adjust my rear camber, though. Pretty standard double-A arm stuff.
