Because of an unexpected death in the family (my car's), I suddenly will be buying an A4 in the next week.
Can anyone recommend a dealership in the general Seattle area? How much over invoice should I expect to pay for a 2.8 off the lot around here?
Thanks in advance to any Seattle folks who can help me out.
Dan
...price at University, but you'll likely be much happier with your buying experience at Barrier. If nothing else, Barrier's service department is far superior to University's. The only thing I can advise is that you stay away from Admiral at Barrier. I have not seen him there for awhile, so maybe he's gone, but that guy has something stuck up his behind. Other than that, the staff there is friendly and helpful. I'm young, I usually go in in jeans and a T-shirt, and sometimes unshaven, but I get treated just like anyone else, and sometimes I've even felt like a king there.
One thing to consider is that Barrier sells Porsche and Jaguar also, so they have a pretty picky customer base that they will work hard to keep. University sells Subarus, and you can tell that by their attitude. Nothing against Subarus, but a Subaru buyer likely isn't going to demand the same satisfaction as a Porsche buyer.
As always, these are my opinions, and are worth very little! Good luck!
Charles

You'll get treated like an idiot. Go in jeans.
Also, if you work on Campus, there's a shuttle from MSFT Campus (possibly also from RedWest, but I'm not sure) to Barrier... this is definitely the best way to get to and from the dealer.
I'd say the Audi customer base is a more interesting group of people than the Jaguar guys, most XK8 owners I know aren't car guys. If they were, the XK8 convertible wouldn't outsell the coupe three to one (ratio according to one Barrier salesman) when the coupe a far better looking car and it rains 200 days a year.
Just some free advice,
Cameron

The Barrier shuttle doesn't just go to Microsoft, but I'm sure that's where it spends most of it's time. But, if you know the right people, you can get a personal ride in a new A6! :-) That's what happened to me last time. I was waiting for the shuttle, and my salesman (someday) spotted me and offered a ride. I felt kind of guilty leaving the other people there waiting for the shuttle to get back from Microsoft, but was not going to turn down an offer like that. He was just going to get coffee, but certainly was not obligated to give me a ride, especially since I still have not bought a car from him. I just think they go the extra distance to make people feel important.
Just yesterday I returned to test drive the TT after looking at it on Thursday night. Even though I was driving it with my regualr guy, the salesman who saw me looking at it the night before recognized me, smiled, and said hello.
Anyway, I agree that you'd look like an idiot going into Barrier with a tie, and a suit would really do you in! Their customer base is either the preppy Microsoft people, or those who have too much money to care what they wear. Seriously! The thing that gets me is that I'm living in poverty compared to most people going in there, but I get the same respect and am valued just as much as anyone else as a potential customer. And yes I do plan to put a deposit on a TT Roadster! It's a 10-12 month wait, but it would give me soemthing to look forward to! :-)
Charles
