Boy I love my '99, Silver, A4Q 2.8, Sport Package. Any way, any one paint their calipers a-la 911 look? If so what type of paint, Rustoleum? I think burnt red would look cool or maybe just red. Ideas?

Steve S. 12-22-1998, 09:23 PM Check out European Car Magazine ads...alot of folks sell Folia Tec stuff...for example...Ultra Performance sells it is red, yellow, silver, black, and blue for $49.95 (enough for 4 calipers...and includes cleaning stuff). In addition LLtek has something similar. Good luck.
Steve S.
97 2.8QM Dmak 12-22-1998, 10:06 PM I have used rustoleum and have had very good results.. I have a silver A4 also and looks great with red calipers... The paint does not faid at all.. I have used it also on my last car a Honda Civic and also my brothers Rx-7...
Dmak 1.8TQMS
P.S One suggestion, I sanded the calipers to give it a very smooth look a la 911... takes a long time but definitely worth it... PeterV 12-23-1998, 03:57 AM I agree I have LLTEK Yellow on my Bamboo. It has held up perfectly for the last 8 mos. Now that I have the Mintex Redbox pads they stay yellow for weeks at a time. The added benefit is the wheels stay clean also.
PeterV '97 1.8TQ auto Wett, Remus etc.. Jason Teller 12-23-1998, 05:20 AM The Raybestos brake pads are red. It's not the whole caliper, but it is something that you can see through the wheels (especially when I've got my R-28's on in the summer). My car is cactus green, so I wasn't sure if I'd like the red. However, the color really looks great. I'm sure that with silver it would be unbelievable. I don't know about Folia Tek, but I do know that LLtek sells a paint kit.
I only point this out about the pads because if you are thinking of ridding yourself of brake dust then you can do that and get some "color" in one purchase.
Jason Marcin R. 12-23-1998, 11:54 AM A friend of mide did his on his black GTi VR6...they look fantastic! LLTek has these kits that have a special cleaner for the callipers and the lacquer that must be heat resistant. They have red, black, blue, silver, and possibly yellow.
Marcin R.
---
'98.5 A4 1.8Tqms |
