I need your opinions/advice. I am torn between the A4 Avant 1.8T QTR or SAAB 9-3 SE. Anyone test drive the two? Please comment. Thanks.

once told me the A4 beats the 9-3 hands-down quality-wise. The 9-3 is a truly fun driving car, but nothing beats quattro, nothing beats the warranty, and no Saab that I know of feels as solid years down the pike. But hey, if you don't mind uncertainty and your heart says 9-3, go for it.

Oh no!!! I also at times think that a Nissan Sentra is a SAAB 900 from the rear. I just like the overall look, drive and space of it. Thank for your response... I think!!

My last car was a 94 900S. Although the 9-3 has improved some, I find the A4 to be a much nicer car overall. (But, I paid more than 50% more for the A4 (unadjusted for inflation. Also, the Saab was a normally apirated 4, whereas my Audi is a 2.8, so I'd expect the Audi to have a bit more power, and be much more refined.)<p>-John<p><br>

I'll do better than that. I own both. The Audi is a much better built car with a much smoother engine. The Saab really suffers from turbo lag. The Audi is also an all wheel drive platform. The Saab is good car but the Audi just does everything better. Also the Saab suffers from tourque steer. But I also just traded in my 96 SE for a 99 convertible. The Saab is a good car to lease, but I wouldn't want to own one. The Audi is a keeper. If you have to go with one car it has to be the Audi.
