Does the Audi regional advertising fee reflect an actual per car dealer cost, or are dealers charged a lump sum fee, irrespective of the number and type of Audi's they sell?
Thanks!

View Full Version : Regional Advertising Fees? mshan 12-22-1998, 02:12 PM Does the Audi regional advertising fee reflect an actual per car dealer cost, or are dealers charged a lump sum fee, irrespective of the number and type of Audi's they sell?
Thanks! Ali B 12-22-1998, 02:36 PM This fee is shown on the invoice sheet of each vehicle. A 1.8T has a fee of something like $209, while a 2.8 A4 has a dealer advertising fee of $249 (1% of $24,920).
Ali B 12-22-1998, 02:44 PM
What I mentioned above is presumably how dealers are charged for regional advertising. I don't know whether in fact they pay Audi this fee or not. I am pretty sure they are charged per car and by the type of car. Therefore, they pay a higher fee for an A8 4.2 quattro than an A4.
BMW has a flat $300 advertising fee in this area (used to be $200). At least this is how much it is for the 3-Series.
Bob 12-22-1998, 04:34 PM The advertising fee was the only snag that I ran into after carefully calculating the dealer invoice and the cost above dealer invoice I was willing to pay. It kind of took me by surprise as I hadn't read anything to prepare me for that fee and I wasn't sure if it was a valid cost or not. I was able to talk my salesman down an additional $50 dollars when I balked. So, in effect, I ended up paying about $200 more than I had expected to pay due to this unforseen fee. All the dealers I spoke to included this cost. tHe uNaBimMeR 12-22-1998, 06:48 PM File it with RustyJones and Scotchguard treatments! JIM H. 12-23-1998, 06:16 PM When the time comes, I'll show you a factory invoice w & w/o regional advertising fee. Fortunately for me, the NE region has no such charge, but other parts of the country do. |
