I just got finished looking at the S4 stuff I picked up at my Audi dealer and already I see one S4 goodie I want to add to my A4. The photos show some really nice dual exhaust tips on the S4, they look to be about 2-2.5" diameter and appear to be slanted just like the A4 pipe. If I can purchase them from Clair, I'll post photos! In the meantime, check out the S4 literature for your self.
Robert Jordan
'97 1.8t
Robert,
I appreciated the info and picture you posted a while back about polishing the stock exhaust tips on the A4. In addition to an A4 1.8T, I own a 1990 SAAB 900T. My question for you...can you still polish a tailpipe if it is not stainless steel. The tailpipe on my SAAB is looking old and is "peeling". I don't know if it's paint or a protectant that is coming off the tailpipe though. I conducted the magnetic test last evening to see if the tailpipe is stainless, but it wasn't. Can I still sand the tailpipe and then spray/cover it with a protectant so it will not rust, or should I just look into replacing the entire tailpipe. Unfortunately, SAAB tailpipes are oval which makes it practically impossible to find an aftermarket exhaust tip to fit the car. Any information/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
CRS, 1.8T, 900T
