Some of you may have read my earlier message about turning in my '96 A4 and waiting for a A6 4.2. But unfortunately the date keeps changing on delivery on the A6 and I ended up leasing a 540I 6spd. I wish I could have bought an Audi because even though the BMW is a great car the Audi is a much more intriguing car. The British mag. Car did a test on both cars a few months back and concluded: <br>"So if style, sportiness, and stability are prime concerns, buy the go-anywhere A6 4.2Q. But if comfort and handling excellence, and overall refinement are what you're after, choose the 540i. It is, ultimately, the more rewarding drive." The 5er they tested had an automatic, standard suspension, and 16" wheels and the A6 had the sport suspension and 17's. <p>Even though I haven't driven the A6 w/V-8, I have driven 2.8s and they're absolutely no fun for the enthusiast. On the other hand, my dad has a '97 540i 6-speed and it is swweeeet. Enjoy!
