Trying to get an idea how much much insurance will be before I make any final car decisions, but unfortunately most of the major insurance companies do not service these two states...

but they only insure small business owners and their families. My rate was VERY good ... $3k for one year at age 23, NO POINTS, and a brand new $30k car (my A4). Moved to VA and it is now $800... though I am 26 now...
HTH
Good luck,
Jon
'96 A4q

Try RelianceDirect. It can be found at www.reliancedirect.com. When I switched from Nationwide to Reliance, I saved an amazing 50% for the same coverage. I have not receive my new A4 yet so I cannot give an exact number, but it was around $610 for a year. I am outside Philadelphia, PA.
dy

http://www.reliancedirect.com

I have liberty mutual, living in NJ. They have a special rate for members of my credit union or AAA members. my yearly rate is about 1200 per year. I'm 31, single. Was with AIG. They originally gave me a rate of about 1500, then the following year upped it to a little over 2000, with no change in my driving record, so I gave them the boot. Hope to stay with Liberty Mutual for a while.
Phil
98 2.8 QMS

I am currently with NJ Re-Manufacturer (a sub. of NJ Manufacturers), due to a 3-hour license suspension 2 1/2 years ago for one unpaid parking ticket. For the year, I pay approximately $3950. This is Tier 2, which is the Standard Tier or something. This also include a $700 reduction in insurance thanks to some new law introduced regarding Lawsuit Thresholds......Once October rolls around, the license suspension comes off, and I'm bumped up into the Premier Tier, or whatever they call the top tier, and I estimate that it'll drop to around $3500 or so. BTW, I'm 25, single M, if that means anything. I also have full coverage on the car as well.
Oh, in addition, when I get bumped in NJM, they also pay a dividend at the end of the year. Don't remember how much it is, but I think last year the dividend a coleague of mine got was in the $150-200 range.
I have State Farm. I'm a single female, 31 with NO POINTS. I have $500 deductibles. I even have a 5% discount for having my homeowner insurance with State Farm.. And State Farm was a BIG discount over Travelers, who I had before.
BTW, I have NEVER processed a claim for an accident or damage since the day I got my license. Oh, but I do live in Hudson County, which is car theft heaven (Newark & Jersey City).
