Those heated seats do come in handy....however, the hottest I can handle is the "3" setting....it has only gotten down to 32 degrees C, but that is cold enough for me. Anybody else notice a weird clacking noise (way more noisey than what noisey lifters
sound like) when you start the car in cold weather? BTW, I am not low in oil.
Steve "enjoying the heated seats" S.
97 2.8QM

But I put mine up to 4 (usually 2-3), which is due to the fact that I have leather and you don't I think.
Buttwarmers are the greatest invention. My parents drive to work in their A6 and not in their new Golf-IV just because mom wants the buttwarmers :-)
The knocking is normal, at least all our Audis did it (you should hear dad's V6-TDI in sub-0C temperatures!)
- Stan
I usually put the seat on 6 and leave it only until the heater has warmed up the cabin. My wife loves the heated seats feature and wished her car had it.

They were truely the most important part of the cold weather package for me. My dad had a Saab with them, and ever since I have always wanted them again... Ah, this is great...

The heater cranked to 74F heats up the cabin really fast. I do hear clicking noises presumably from the HVAC control systems behind the dash. I also am experiencing intermittent whirring noises when I take off hard in 1st gear since it got really cold around here. I can seldom duplicate the noise at will. I know if I tell the dealer, they'll never be able to reproduce it. Also, thanks to my romp in the snow, I noticed that my driver side mirror's heater is not functioning. Things just to mention at the 15K service I suppose.
Now why the hell did I post this at your post? I don't even have heated seats?!
P2
yes...on vacation for 2 weeks!!

Leave 'em on 3, set HVAC to 70, and shut her off the night before.. remotely start about 10 minutes prior to leaving, and all toasty!!! :)
Rich
