Too bad you don't have your car yet. Don't be sorry about mixing it up in the ice with the others, though. Quattro won't help you prevent someone from sliding into you.

Assume: 1. Wheel = W
2. Traction on ice = T
Then: W = 4
T = 0
Total Traction = W X T
Solve for Total Traction ?

Be careful!
Oh, I am full aware of other peoples driving, as I had lived in New England for 29 years. I am just bummed out about not having the car in general. I do not worry about myself, just other people as they have severely limited experience on ice (once every 3 years). I would rather be in my quattro than my Honda when it is even a hint bit slippery out there!

I know from personal experience that 4WD is a nightmare on ice. I'd rather have FWD. So, stay clear of all SUVs and 4WD pickups. The problem is, most 4WD vehicles send a disproportionate amount of power to the front and rear axles (i.e. the rear wants to lead the front, or rather it causes the tail wagging the dog syndrome).
Just my $0.02 worth.
