I can't really tell you what it is for sure...but when you say it happens on uneven surfaces it makes me think control arm bushings. When you go over irregular surfaces, like making a right or left turn into a driveway where the car approaches at an angle the geometry of the suspension changes quite a bit. This is likely to cause some noise at the worse...but if a bushing is bad...the noise will be much louder. As for the pedal feel, don't know what to tell you...other than go see your dealer.
