I'm soooooooo close. I just have to get the wife to move on it!!! Well....... it will be her car after all........ but I'll get to swoon all over it :)
1999.5 2.8
Silver
quattro
tip
sunroof
Onyx leather
sport steering wheel
Man, I just wish she was as excited as I am. Most women just don't get excited about this kinda thing. She loves the car but I would have been there yesterday with cash in hand. All I get is, ".........settllllllle down, there's no rush".
WHAT ?!??#!!#$^%$^# The frinkin' thing could be gone tomorrow since it's sitting on the lot with no home at this time.
*Pulls clump of hair out of scalp*
I don't wanna put on the pressure........BUT THIS IS FRINKIN' KILLLLLLLLING ME............ I hate waiting. I don't know how some of you people wait 6+ months. I guess part of my problem is that I've seen the thing (from behind a fence mind you) but I need to touch it...... TO HAVE IT !!!!
Of note, yes we have driven many A4's........ so we're not psycho flipped out buyers!! Times like this though......... I think my wife may wish she married someone with less "car-on-da-brain-disease"!!!
I had to vent into a crowd that may understand........
*grumble, grumble*

Tom
First, she will come around in dues time. Given you message, you have driven many different A4's, why are't you getting the sport package?

My wife and my situation exactly. I stop by the dealership about three times a week, usually at night, just to see if any new ones have come in. Today, I was out of town on business, and I went by the Audi dealership, just to see what people in other cities are getting. I check the forum on this site during my lunches and sometimes in the evenings as well...and SHE STILL DOESN'T UNDERSTAND! I have wanted an A4 since they came out and I still don't have one. (sigh) My wife just doesn't understand that its not just a car, it becomes a whole hobby unto itself. I have my home page all planned and waiting for content. I plan on modifying the car, I plan on racing the car, I...
I need to get a grip.
Anyway, I totally understand. BTW, my wife extends her understanding to your wife and suggests two separate support groups. One for the car-lusters and one for the...er, victims.
Good luck, I will let you know if there is any progress here.
Jimmy Pribble
'88 Honda Prelude
145,000 miles!
Understand completely. My wife likes our Laser Red '99 1.8Tqms (and she looks great in it), but to her a car is really to get from point A to point B. Really, the crash testing and all-wheel drive safety sold her on it, more than anything. She thinks I'm a little loony for fussing over it like I do, but she just doesn't get it.
She also recently threw away my cool TT bag from the Chicago Auto Show. She says she was just cleaning up, but methinks she's sending a deeper message, like TT = TROUBLE for me! Oh, I've got it bad for that impractical little thing.
Anyway I just consider myself lucky that she likes to drive a manual!
BDW

THE WIFE DOESN'T SEE THE PURPOSE OF THE SPORTS PACKAGE. Oh well, that's ok since eventually I'll find a way to sneak it down to my friends performance shop and drop it with after market goodies!!! As someone said before, for her, it's an A to B piece of machinery. The extra dough on the sports package holds zero value for her.
Me thinks women are way more level headed and practical with this stuff. Us men are just way too passionate about the details....... especially when it come to justifying car sh*t we don't reeeeeeeeeally need!!

Tom

agrees that all she needs is 1 pair of brown shoes, 1 pair of black shoes, and 1 pair of yard and/or jogging shoes. The go well with THE blue dress and THE black dress. There's more to this "sensible" pattern, she'll understand, I'm sure. ;-)
Couldn't (but probably should have) resist.
