I have noticed lately that a majority of A4 drivers around here appear to be attractive females in the thirtysomething age group. At least in West LA. I wonder if it is because I like my A4 alot or there is a increase of female drivers a hot cars. Also they seem to be more willing to exchange a nod to a fellow A4 owner than their male counterparts. Yesterday I was next to a guy on the freeway who had the identical car to mine and when i beeped at him to bive him the thumbs up the guy ignored me like i was a ax murderer. 99 1.8t QMS Santorin/Opal

If you honk at me, I'll honk back. Mines red and I haven't seen any A4's since I got mine!!!

Cause:
A) I have the Casablanca White A4
B) you would have had to be gong quite fast to keep up with me :)
In all seriousness, I have TRIED to wave at fellow A4 drivers, get behind them and FLASH my lights, just about anything except sit on their hoods, and I get nothing in return. I also try to promore our SoCal A4 Club, the A4Org, and the Quattro Club. They all act as if I was a Hari Krishna!
Oh do I miss the old Triumph/MG days - where anyone in an English car flashed their lights at each other, waved, or even followed each other to the local PUB to swap horror stories. Perhpas because there is no car that breaks down like a Brit car, or no more cars for the pioneering type, nor imports that are a rarity (AND AFFORDABLE), there just isn't that comraderie any more amongst drivers. What a sad time this is.

I am all over SoCal from WLA down to Costa Mesa, and out to Anaheim/Cerritos. I drive to all our offices all day long fixing computers. So if you see a White A4 with an unusual rear exhaust <G>, flash or honk!

Mike...I am giving you the thumbs up signal...and in case you didn't know...I had three MGBs before...maybe that is why I honk, wave, and flash lights at fellow A4 owners...
Steve S.
97 2.8QM
P.S. this picture is from graduation day in high school. Yes, it was a LONG time ago. This is the car that got me a reckless driving ticket...I didn't warrant a reckless driving ticket...but tell that to the Los Altos PD officer that pulled me over and took me to the station. :-(

Mike, It is funny you mention the Brit cars. In fact i have a 69 MG midget sitting in the garage which is really mad at me because I have only started it once since getting the A4 in Jan.

Hey Steve, I found your previous car ownership history quite familiar. I had an MGB for almost 10 years. Great fun and a good introductory, "hands-on" sports car experience (but it nearly ruined my back crouching to see out the windshield at lights)! I still owned the car when I married and my wife used to kid me how I would always flash a wave or honk at a fellow MGBer.
I suspect the habit will be returning when I finally get my new A4!
Maybe there's a genetic predisposition here?
