I am an ex-pat (U.S.) living in London, UK and I would very much like to buy an A4 in Europe (Spain, Germany) where it is cheaper but I don't know how to go about it. I do not want right hand drive so that should make it easy. I would get it in the U.S., but the I would have to leave the car state-side for 6 months before bringing it to the UK due to import tax laws. Does anyone know of some dealers/agents in Europe/UK that are good for this sort of transaction? Also does anyone know how a car gets license (number) plates, registered, insurance, etc. when purchased in one country and taken to another? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
