O.K. this is what I believe to be true:
FRONT: non-sport- (22mm.) sport-(27mm.) both hollow
REAR: non-sport (12mm.) sport-(16mm) both solid
I have found some conflicting information by seaching the archives that suggests that the non-sport front bar is also 27mm. This could only make since if the sport bar were contructed with a heavier gage steel. Are there any other differences? I.E. bushings, end link hardware, ect....
I am looking to upgrade my 97 1.8TQM with 98 sport bars and springs paired with bilstien H/D struts. I am hoping to end up with improved handeling with minimal harsness and reduction in ride height. I have gone all out on my previous cars and regreted it. I am looking for a "middle of the road" and conservatvie suspension upgrade. Has anyone else done this or something similar?
I Would appreciate any comments, advice and or constructive criticism.
Scott

The older 96/97 front bars use to be 22mm....with 12mm rears...the
new 98 sport and non-sport "front" bar, I believe, is 27mm and hollow.
The rear bar is where you get the difference...it is 16mm. The Neuspeed
front sway bar is 27mm, but SOLID. The rear Neuspeed sway bar is
solid and 22mm. I have the part numbers for the sport suspension if
you want them...just email me.
Steve S.
97 2.8QM
H&R coilovers
Neuspeed Sway bars
