Should I buy an extended warranty for my 01 allroad?

I've been contemplating getting an extended warranty from Audi on my allroad since I plan on keeping it for a while. Would this be a wise decision on my part or should I just save my money and put aside about $5000 to cover any unexpected breaks? Any input would be appreciated.
