You might have read my post last week complaining of loss of power at WOT in 5th and 6th gears and some of you suggested that it might be a boost leak. Well I popped the hood and noticed that the hose clamps on the hoses to/from the DV's were non existent. So I clamped them up (zip tied them actually) and went for a test drive and everything seemed to be back in order. Problem solved, or so I thought. Well today I am cruising along and go to WOT and the same problem...Limp mode. I pop the hood and my clamps are still in place, so I took it to the dealer and the tested it on the smoke and no boost leaks. But he thing that they did find was that the car is boosting to 2.0 bar! No wonder my clamps were no gone, I had blown them right off with the extra boost! The dealer says it is a problem with my APR chip (stage 1). So on the way home I did a comparison of the 91 chipped program to the stock program. In stock mode everything is fine. No problems in full boost and no limp mode or stuttering what so ever. In 91 program it cuts into limp mode when I give it full boost.
Does this sound like an ECU problem to you? Anyone had a similar experience with the APR chip?
Please advise.
