require full paint coverage as will the front bumper. A flat type finish is impossable to blend out perfectly.
The left front fender (qtr panels are in the rear) will have a blend from front to rear hopefully stopping the blend no further back than that side marker light, a clear coat will cover the whole fender.
If it were my car I would stress the poind if at all possable to stay out of the hood. But that is just me. If the guy is a good painter he should be able to tint the paint to a very close match. Most of todays shops do not do this anymore and it is sadly becoming a lost art. In doing autobody and paint for many years I found that the best match to Audi is Spies-Hecker paint. But that has been many years back.
If your hood has many chips now might be the time to get that taken care of.
My whole reasonong with staying out of the hood if possable is that repair paint is never as good as oe it will fail far sooner than the factory's original in most cases. Especially on the horizontal surfaces. Although todays acylic urethane paint is a lot better than the stuff of 20 years ago.
Take it in have it done and drive away, it'll look like nothing has ever been done :)
