Okay, three pages of mostly Audi PR baloney. Let me summarize...
1. First long part--just about no information w/ lots of marketing cliche's. Where's the beef?
2. Some sound insulation. Got it. Since weight was described as the same, it sounds like maybe a few more stick ons here and there? I already know W12 w/ the laminated glass is already infinitely quieter than my A6 4.2. I guess maybe they want to say "morgue" quiet? Nah, not the right marketing term I guess.
3. Lots of suspension and steering tweaks. Net of PR speak, I think that maybe says a new Servotronic relay, a re valve of some type on the air shocks and a software map update. Hmmmm.
4. A lame warning system. Oops, make that a lane warning system, so this car too can be another radar emitting annoyance to warn us when drivers have lost all ability to think and look around. Glad they'll let me know, so I can spot Lexi, newest Bimmers, Q7 and 2008+ A8 asleep-at-the-switch drivers with my V1 all on the same frequency.
5. A grille with vertical lines that hopelessly clashes with the horizontal lines on what looks like the W12 given the grille and fender badging. Sounds like a clothing fashion tip run amok--vertical lines won't make it look any slimmer. All it does for me is say, I'm a really stupid looking grille. The W12 and then the 2006+ A8's had a decent fishmouth before this fashion disaster. Thank you Audi. I think the value of my 2006 grille just went up.
6. Either my nine spoke RS style 20's just went up in value since they are bailing on the double spokers from 2007 if the W12 picture is to be believed, or maybe the 2007's will be hot as a one year only "special edition." Time will tell...
I for one am not rushing for the trade in... May help them sell those landed 2007's I speculated about the other day.

Look BEHIND the curtain: It's not the product, its the business plan that drives Audi:
Audi marketing/business plan for the 6-10 out year sales is Asia centric: large (gas) sedans unit sales in Europe are predicted to be lower than China, e.g. the China only A6L; the (very Japan styled 2008 A8); A1 Tokyo debut vs. Frankfurt and more, all adds up to where Audi must (and are) focusing design/sales efforts.
Another example: only 10% of the Q7 marketing budget is going to Asia - wrong car for there now - the remainder is 70/30 U.S. & Euro where the large SUV mentality/desire already exists. Don't like the 2008 A8 tweaks? Wait until you see the changes on the other models in 3-5 years - the one bright spot I have seen is the universally satisfying 2010 A8. Just my 2 Yuan worth.
