Just to clarify this particular senario..
Couple o weeks ago brought car to dealer for oil change (which as previously reported they screwed up.) Check engine lite was on and I might of thought that since they were only getting 54 bucks for the oil change they might check the code and make some dough... or at least reset the light. They did neither and never mentioned nuttin. ok fine
Last week brought it up to my mechanic for the pre warranty check and he's the one that said he pulled the code, reset it and told me that it was a secondary air pump malfunction. He was doing me a favor and took the first 20 minutes of the day to get the wty thing done and certainly had not allowed time for troubleshooting or repairs. In parting I asked him how much this air pump might be and he said oh maybe $350. I suppose he could have said it may just be a hose. At any rate I believe/hope that if I had taken it back for fixin he would have simply re connected the hose. But still may have charged me something.
Yankin that little hose would be a great mechanic honesty / competency test.
BTW I'm now also thinking how much air flow might be better if I relocated the big stupid fan out of the airbox somewhere.. Where is the question.
