On a huge heavy V8 car like a D2 you're not going to notice the difference THAT much. I shed ~ 4lbs. per wheel going with my BBS's and my MPG improved like 0.1. Feels 'slightly' more spritely to my tracktuned buttometer, via steering response and suspension transition and off the line snappiness - but if you're a casual road goer you're unlikely to notice much of that (not that that's a bad thing, just noting it). On a Scirocco? Sure.
The 18's match the wheel arches of a D2 quite nicely IMO. Tho you may then need to lower it to achieve the right look. Look @ obw's car here, and Gabor and another silver D2 who's name's escaping me - they all run those D3 18's. I very much think they suit that car WELL. I dont' think a split spoker looks all that good on these.
