OK...finally a washer fluid sensor fix....
Well, I lucked out with which wire to cut. Talk about guessing lucky! Shoulda gone on Deal or No Deal! Of course this procedure is available to Audipages if desired.
If you guys have a washer fluid sensor error and its constantly on, even though your fluid level is fine, here is the cheapy fix:
The wire colors are only confirmed for a M.Y. 97
1- Remove passenger side Headlight assembly. (Left hand drive) Left side Headlamp assembly.
2- Locate washer tank pump. The black one is for the windshield and the white one is for your headlight washers.
3- There are 3 wires: Brown, Brown/Blue, Black/Purple. Cut the Brown wire with the blue stripe.
4- Reassemble everything. Make note of where your upper mounting bolt locations are so you do not have to realign your headlights.
You should now have the ability to use the washer pump for the windshield and NOT have the animation go off constantly. The downside is that you won't know when the fluid is low, only when the fluid is out!
If you would like the fluid level sensor function, replace the black pump. It tilts away from the fluid reservoir. I'm not certain that parts sites allow for just the pump, but most likely you will have to purchase the whole assembly.
