Default Mechanic not

My dream of repairing the oil cooler coolant leak met with utter failure after I got to the step where I was suppose to drain oil and coolant. uh uh. I could not see getting much farther beyond this step as the oil cooler is really in a tight location.
Dang!
I did occupy my time then by doing the 10 minute install of the Autobarn el cheapo quick shelf:

Default Looking like a dent waiting to happen on that beautiful 75 Carrera

Sorry, looked as if its sagging with the weight of the cans. Good to see another 2.7 engined car.

Default Any tips...

I'm going to tackle the oil cooler job this weekend. If you can provide any additional insight to Audipages instructions, that would be greatly appreciated.

I had my local indy tackle this job. I just don't want to spend that much time on my back. He did it in about 3-1/2 hours. It cost me about $300 and I thought it was worth it not to have to do it myself. He did not take off the front end, but he did have to take off a motor mount I believe to get clearance. He bitched about it with a little bit of a smile.

If you're in the Chicagoland area....

Default Not much time on your back - 20 minutes or so.

Really, it's not too bad if you have a friend to help with the front end removal and to help manipulate it back into place when re-installing. Of course, you must have a great deal of patience, because it's insanely frustrating trying to figure out just how it goes back on. Not hard, just, mind-bogglingly frustrating like a monkey puzzle. Looks simple, ought to be simple, just doesn't go until all of a sudden you say "Huh! how did that happen?"

I also took the opportunity to clean as much scunge off the alternator as was reasonably possible -- I don't know to clean it better, maybe with steam?
