What is the Function of this button?
I know this will be embarrassing but searching the owner's manual and casually looking in the car for something to change provided no answer to my question. Of course it looks like it should do something related to opening/closing a door....but what does this circled switch (on the front overhead console) do with the door(s)........

LOL—Not a problem...And not embarrassing. I’m still learning things on this car. Like I didn’t know that the red flashing interior car theft alarm warning lights were situated in the front door side window defogger vents until I inadvertently locked the car in my garage and saw them flashing in the dark...Or that the parking lights (side marker lights) only operate at speeds under 2Omph, which I just learned last week. You’ll be the one embarrassing a ton of other drivers with your 487 ft. lbs. torquey V8 luxo-barge that will outrun their “sports” rides. 😁

That's nothing. I was sitting in the back seat and broke wind and the seat opened to reveal a toilet and a toilet paper holder came out of the back of the front passenger seat.

Here's one that will ensure no one else will ever feel embarrassed to ask a question about things on this car.
Last night, I was tired, but after going to the grocery store, I dropped my stuff in the trunk. I was tired/hungry/and very cold, and I was cursing Audi for not putting 'lights' on the button in the trunk to close the trunk (the auto trunk close button). I spent a solid 5 seconds going...wtf were they thinking? Where TF is the button?!
I then realized I was looking too far to the right and did not notice the BIG LIT BUTTON to close the trunk.
Sigh. Jokes on me.

One of my favorite Audi things is the quality of their lit buttons.
Even the shift paddles have a lit + and - sign on them. Something they didn't have to do, could have just been painted or molded in.

And here’s a small but important thing that had been missing on the D4s that returned with the D5–the illuminated low beam symbol in the VC, so you immediately know that you have the headlights switched on without having to awkwardly look down at the light switch on the lower left hand instrument panel. Couldn’t believe they left that off the D4!!! Also nice to have the text briefly appear in the VC showing which light selection you’ve chosen on the front exterior light switch array.
