Planning ahead
I'm 29 months into a 2019 3.0 lease with 6200 miles Lease is 42 months which I can extend to 48 months
My wife and I have only had company cars or leases since 1989 and I have never ridden a lease till end because I always negotiate something early. I was a professional negotiator before I retired (got $27K off last lease). As I look forward, not thinking there will be any good A8 deals that will keep me anywhere near $1000/mo (wife manifesto). My lease buyout in 19 months is $46,700 when I will have about 11K miles.
Not thinking there A8 stock will be good then nor any discounts. I could buy the lease out for $46,700 plus a few thousand for warranty. I expect the car will still be in pristine condition, but at some point I will end up with an 8 year old car which I'm not sure I want.
Other alternative would be to offer the lease turn in to a number of Audi dealers (we have 7 in Chicago) and ask them for $3-4K if I dispose of the lease with them. Assuming it would sell in a day on their lot.
I know it's early but any words of wisdom?
