I have 12 hours left to decide ...
I've had my Carvana A8 for 7 days, I need to let them know if I want to keep it or have them pick it up.. It's a 2021 L60 with 21 inch tires, with 5k miles on it. I've loved driving it, but am considering returning it and getting a 2019 First Edition I found, also V8, with 23k miles .. it has the OLED rear lights which I fancy, and the 20 inch wheels which I think I'd prefer. Still has 31 months left on the warranty, and is $20k less than the 2021. I don't plan on driving it that much, maybe 5k per year, so I feel a little foolish having the newer car. Does the 2019 have any known "issues" I should be aware of, relative to the 2021 (which seems to have its own quirks, like the fuel gauge not decreasing for the first 170 miles driven). Thanks, and one way or another, happy to be a part of this forum - you guys are great!

I guess from what you’ve described, I’d go with the 2019 First Edition V8. That model is actually closer to the 2020 model year since it was released in Spring 2019, IIRC. From what I’ve seen perusing the many D5 TSBs, there’s not much difference between the 2019s and 2021s in major component trouble, other than software updates for the 2019 MY that were already implemented in 2021 MY production.

It depends on what you value...but I find the 2019 A8L 55 TFSI to be the perfect long haul vehicle. It's whisper silent and rides like you're on a cloud on the freeway, while still having pick up that is surprisingly good -- all while still getting over 30 mpg. It's no stop light racer, but if I want to race around, I have a 911 for that.

35K on my 2019 55 and no issues so far. It's so quiet and smooth. I came from a D4 V8 and frankly, haven't missed the V8 much. It was fun having all that power, but not really needed. The V6 has been fine for me.

Thanks all! FYI, I canceled the Carvana order and decided to go with the 2019 with 23k miles. It saves me $20k and I get the 20 inch wheels and the OLED taillights. If for any reason I don't like it when I go to pick it up tomorrow, I can always cancel the Carvana pickup on Monday.
Appreciate everyone's input on this thread and others, I've learned a lot in the past week and sure to learn a lot more! (And hopefully able to help out others here and there :-)

I just bought it a couple weeks back and have around 700 miles on it. 23,500 miles overall. Replacing my D3 A8....vast difference between the two cars. the A8L 55 is much more a freeway cruising car. Car history records show it has had not warranty claims. I'll tell you that unless you are a speed junkie, the V6 is my preferred choice. The quattro design puts most of the engine in front of the front axle. The bigger the engine, the more imbalanced the car becomes. I always try for the lightest engine to hopefully gain more balance. I'm from the Colin Chapman school of thought...lighter is better, all things considered. These cars aren't light, but any lightening is beneficial.

Thinking of keeping my A4 for 200K miles. At 93K right now. Who here is the closest to 200K miles...
