Just cross posting. Someone on the Q8 subforum who owns a present gen A6 got a letter from Audi indicating the BSG now has a warranty extension to 7 years/unlimited mileage. Hopefully we get one soon for our A8s.

My BSG was replaced last Thursday after a 3 month wait. No issues post-installation with software behavior, etc. and drove about 300 miles on Saturday. Hoping this new BSG will stay problem-free.

So.
Bit of a update. Picked the car up, no issues, I checked, the BSG has the 7 year warranty unlimited miles warranty on it it would seem, but it was grayed out so not yet active? not sure. Either way, I haven't gotten a letter about it yet. I HAVE gotten a letter about a ball joint issue that is also warrantied but... I don't much car at this point :-)
The car works beautifully, I have driven about 1k miles from when I picked it up
I also got word from Volkswagon about a lemon law settlement. The offer is $4,500 and waiver of future claims. Anyone have any thoughts about this or other experience? Would love to know any opinions. This essentially pays the car payment for the time it was unavailable as well as damages/loss of use on top of that. So, it isn't a bad offer per se. But it would void any class action claim I would have moving forward if someone were to do something. BUT i don't know I would get this much out of the Class action.
As always, I appreciate the input!

The offer of $4500 is not bad as you state, however, if you have to pay the attorney out of that, I would reject it and counter with a higher amount so that the attorney fees can be paid. They will come back to you as it would cost them more to take the case to trial. Just my 2 cents worth. Good luck.

Tha k you much for the input! Lawyer fees are separate and comkawagon is paying them as well, so this would be 4500 direct to me
might just take it going to chat with the lawyer today.would be nice to be done with it all

Take the deal
I would take the deal and agree to no further claims for this occurrence. I would take exception to any future occurrences related to this part or any other occurrence that may happen during your ownership of the car. I’m sure your attorney will make sure that any occurrence does not include future occurrences.

I have absolutely no idea if my guess is even a hypothesis. But, since we're all up the same creak with nothing new from Audi US/Canada, maybe it's best to throw on a battery tender to your 12V battery every few weeks. On the upside, it may help alleviate this issue. On the downside, waste of time and effort.
I'm going to continue doing just that. Throw on the tender every week or so, just in case. It sort of makes sense to me anyway. 12V battery is now approaching year 4 for many of us, and it's cold right now so SOC is naturally lower than over the summer.

I do the same as angry, bung my tender on the car every other week.
