Not 2019 pleeeeeeeease !!!!.I have a huge list of issues and the dissapointments grow everyday. I would go for 2021/22 if money is not an issue. Choose all wheel steering, B&O 3D advanced if music is important for you and luxury package that gives you high end leather and massage front row, driver assistance pack to enjoy the dynamic cruise control (gold if you are commuting alot). Colour is a matter of taste but sard brown interior looks nice and settled. Good luck !

My 2019 is flawless with 0 creaks and rattles. If I could do it all over again, I'd buy a 2019, period and avoid all models including the facelifted ones. At some point, I believe it was 2020 or something, they downgraded the cut of the leather (allegedly). This is as per one of the other AW posters which caught me off guard, but he did take pics etc.

I'd avoid 2020 to 2022 due to the sudden changes in production as a result of covid. imagine having to wear a mask and gloves all day for the first time in our lives. Wait, none of us need to imagine that!! We do need to imagine what it's like to build cars though w/ all of that PPE. Lexus, even suffered from huge QC Issues as a result.

I agree 100% with the covid period timeline theory, including the fact of inferior parts/electronics/chips and inferior/insufficient labor.
My 2023 is flawless so far, build date 06/2023 one of the last 23's to be built, better than my 2020 which had a 07/2019 build date which I would assume was a first run for the 2020 S8 model. Rides better, everything is quieter/smoother/no rattles, and it seems faster even though it's not fully broken in yet and I really haven't gotten on it more than a couple of times after it turned 600 miles.

I've got an early build 2020 S8, built sometime in the 1st qtr. It has been pretty much bullet proof. A few minor things that I would have had to prob deal with on any other high end car.

I've seen a few low mileage ones out there for what I thought were decent prices but don't know the build months. GL w the search

FYI - the build month is listed on the B pillar manufacturer sticker, inside DS front door down near the side skirt.

This is in my price range and is certainly one of the least expensive 2023 models I can find, but I don't think it has all the options I desire: www.cars.com

This 2022 is a likeable color and even less expensive, but again how do I know if it has all my desired options? www.cars.com I like the color and the fact that it is CPO, but otherwise unsure.

Yes, I know but then I'm married to talking to a salesperson and the barrage of follow up calls, etc. I'd hate to call them only to determine within the first two minutes that the car isn't equipped the way I want it. Plus, half the time the salesperson has no idea how many of the vehicles in their inventory are optioned. I can already hear it now, "oh yeah, this is a heavily equipped vehicle. When do you want to see it?" LOL, trying to avoid this altogether and just interact with someone once I "know" I have a candidate.

That may be good advice...if they have it. In either case, you have a good idea and if/when I call, that will be the first thing I ask for. Thanks!
