Considering buying 2021 S8
It was fully loaded in 2021 only missing night vision. 71K today. 46K miles. Clean Carfax complete routine service done. CPO car. Is there anything I should be looking out for? I would purchase any extended warranty probably through the dealer, but not sure about those. I've always bought new cars, never used.
I currently have an A6 Allroad. I really don't need the wagon.

I have not researched the used car market recently, but that seems high to me for the mileage. I would expect more than 50% depreciation from original MSRP for a flagship German car with nearly 50k miles on it.
The last used car I purchased was a 2012 Mercedes S63 AMG. The car was original sticker $170k. I purchased in 2016 for $67k with 22k miles on it.

I think that's the right call. To illustrate this another way, the residual value for my 2023 S8 lease is about $73k and it will only have 36k miles or less at that time.

I just checked 2021 S8 prices on Carfax.com. The cheapest car I could find cost $78K with 10K miles on ODO and it's not CPO:
https://www.carfax.com/vehicle/WAU8SAF81MN018576
So CPO for $71K with 46K miles is not as bad asking price as it may seem considering the current market conditions. It is a 3 year old car and if it's fully loaded - MSRP of that car should be at about $140K.
50% off at 3 year anniversary is about what it should be. It's not the best price, but nothing extraordinary.

recently got a 2020, I was able to extend the CPO for 3 extra years, I think 36k extra miles for around 2k so that would be worth exploring...in so far as what to look for if you have CPO its really about what options/color combos you want. One note I learned – the predictive suspension is standard on 2020 and 2021.
its a great car by the way

I'm not finding any 2021 vehicles for less than $71k either. As a matter of fact, I'm close to purchasing a 2020 S8 (~18k miles and still under the OEM warranty) for $68K. It is heavily optioned, so maybe that's the difference.
