Default ABT Tune +129 HP

Hello,

I have a 2020 S8. Has anyone installed the ABT Tune that adds 129hp to the car? If so, what was the cost, and how does it hold up on reliability? I'm open to exploring other tuning options too.

Thanks

Another option to look at is APR tunes. Remember, any tune will void your OE warranty.

Thanks for that! For some reason I thought ABT based on what someone told me. I also knew it was $4,000, just didn't know how much installation costs, but that brochure helps, thank you!

If it will void the warranty, I'll likely skip it.

I purchased an extended warranty for an additional 4 years after the manufacturer warranty that expired in January 2024. Costed me about $5k, platinum tier, and I honestly don't plan on owning this car without a warranty because of the price of parts. My left taillight has a small imperfection and the replacement costs $2,800. Can't imagine what some engine parts cost that are specific for the S8. I know the warranty is refundable at a prorated amount, but would definitely like to keep it

Stick with a warranty and forget the tune. Extra horsepower is nice to have, but the S8 in its original form is no slouch.

I don't disagree with you on that. It's too manageable though, I was really excited for that extra 129 HP for under $5k, makes a nice difference lol

It's just a number on top of an already big number. Nothing against ABT or APR or Revo or whoever, but you would soon get bored and not use the extra.
For me, I've re-mapped cars to improve driveability, usually by improving the torque delivery rather than top end dyno power, which usually happens.
You already have a very driveable, brilliantly well-rounded car. Maybe you need your thrills somewhere else.

It doesn't void warranty, in fact it states it on official abt website for europe. i have abt tune on my car, i measured the car 100-200 time when it was stock and it was 9.5 sec with the abt tune 100-200 8.10sec. I have it for sale if anyone is interested.
