"APR Stage 1 - 545 HP / 629 Ft-lb on 93 (R+M)/2" - It adds about 90 HP and 129 FT-LB of torque. More info here. Best bang for the buck.

You better opt for the V10 R8 because the W12 and S8 out accelerate the V8 R8. And in fact the W12 about matches the early V10 R8 and the S8 bests it
Since we’re talking all things W12 I think you’ll a bit dear on price. I also think you should list in on Bring a Trailer. It’s well optioned and people will love the warranty. If you went and got it carbon cleaned I think it’ll be a slam dunk and you’ll bring in more than normal market price with a well presented photo set and videos
I’m a photographer and have shot and listed several cars on BaT. Feel free to ask me any questions about the process (or hire me to shoot it)

It's actually just a software upgrade, no hardware change. Plug into the OBD-II connector, and you have your tune in 30 minutes. APR sells a variant of the tune with a warranty. There's a hornets' nest of debate around that, but they are the only ones who do it.

Under three second 0-60 can be had with the addition of minimal hardware (larger turbos, and I assume high "E" fuel):

This is without exhaust mods, full interior.

Get help for your anger
@ A8L_New_England - You have so much anger and speak so disrespectfully to me. Speaking in terms of thread compliance, I did not get mad at you when you replied to a thread about W12 vs S8 bragging about your car which is neither. I even was nice to you asking for more info on your car to be nice. You should seek some help be kinder to your fellow humans.

Having had the D3 W12 for 9 years and now S8 D4 for going on 8, I would say S8. But in D4, it means SWB instead of LWB just like it did in D3, so those are really different animals. Thus, first choose body to me, then motor. I had kids at home with D3, but now empty nester w/ D4, which answered back seat question easily for me. I sense they integrated W12 better into D4 body; for D3 W12 it was tight and S8 has been easier drivetrain wise for most (occasional) repairs so far.
Even with the right there torque of the W12, the hot V set up of the 4.OT is there almost as fast, and then just runs away. Still eats 99% of what is on road ICE wise and embarrassed other German non hot V's of the era. A8 4.0T sort of obsoleted N.A. W12 performance wise, and (usually) also had LWB. Takes a W12 twin turbo like a big bucks Bentley to really get back to same league as the S8 level of tune--which is itself effectively RS level for any other body.
Nonetheless, gotta own a 12 at least once in life. Glad I did. Speaking of which, as those Bentley's age, maybe... The now older ones look sort of like a chrome ***** house to me inside and are back with D3 or D4 electronics through about 2020. So they need a few more years of mouth watering depreciation to get to what could be a final ICE hurrah.
