SQ5 21" Wheel question on 17 A8
Audi SQ5 - OE Wheels from 2018-2020 in New Powder coat, professionally applied and restored to new - with black center caps
Size is 21inch, 8.5 width, ET34 offset.
Would they fit my car, 2017 A8 with mine
21x9, et35
Just going after the black wheels and the fact they are Audi

I ran a 255 on the D3, never tried on a D4. Not against it either. I wonder how a 245 summer tire with no stretch on a D4 would feel.

As long as the D4 center bore is 66.56 it should be fine. (I am pretty sure it is) The wheels since they are narrower will be ~5mm more inboard then your current wheels and have about 7mm more space on the inner part of the wheel well. IE you don't have to worry about it hitting stuff. Make sure the hub thickness is the same (it should be in theory) pull one wheel poke a loose bolt through the hub and measure the distance from the back plane of the hub to the end of the bolt. Do the same with the replacement wheel. As long as the distances are within 1mm of each other you are good. Also check to make sure the bolt seats are identical (conical vs round) Also as mentioned earlier 255 is your limit when it comes rubber.

I don't just make this stuff up...
Here is the screen shot from Tire Rack for your typical D4 Pirelli OES type howlers in 265/40-20. Rim spec for it is 9 to 10.5". D4 rims are 9". Same answer for other tire manufacturers' specs or for a 265 in a 35 series for a 21" rim. D3's came with 8.5's in some baseline fitments, and then had 255's. Their 9" wheels were fit with 275's. Owned the various OE wheel sets for D3 too, first person.
Q5's and SQ5's came with 255 max, hence 8.5's. We owned one. The usual pig heavy Audi cast OE wheels BTW; on a steel spring suspension it made the ride pretty crappy even in 20's and a 45 series ratio (SQ's went to 21). The D body air ride helps clean that up, though the heavier cast stock wheel set ups don't help.
