The "only" problem you may have is that at that mileage you're out of turbo's warranty and they could fail even if, based on the recall, they will probably replace the screen....

Interesting note on the car fax...

Between May 2017 and May 2018 the car was only driven for 1K miles. Not sure what "reported at an Auction" means. Do you think they tried to tell the car for about a year and then no one bought it so they kept it? The "independent repair center" notes are generic.. Wonder is that was extended service/ warrenty support.

Anyways, the car seems clean. Bring your wife, take a long test drive. Listen for noises, the car should be smooth. Confirm the clean OBD scan. Call insurance, add to the policy and drive off into the sunset..

"The Warranty is applicable for 10 years or 120,000 miles, whichever occurs first from the in-service date."
.
How is he outside of the warranty?

Actually looks pretty good. Note that there are two previous owners, not one as per CarFax. (It was "dealer inventory" at 61K mi.)
.
Just be sure to run the codes and have an indy look at it / get it up on a lift and give it the going-through.

According to the CARFAX, that car has had four owners and a "moderate" rear end collision.

@A8L_New_England
@OberklasseA8
@2turbos4rings

Certainly appreciate all your help with this; guess I'll have to look and see how fast ross-tech can ship, or see if someone around me (I have a buddy that's a Honda mechanic) has a VCDS that I can borrow to check it out.
I'm trying not to get tooooooooooo excited and pull the trigger today hahahaha
Would like to approach this rationally as you're all advising and make sure I come out even or on top.

I hope others in the future get use from this thread on advice for searching.
I guess all that remains is actually pulling the trigger..

My buddy that's a honda mechanic has an OEM level scan tool for Audi/VW... says the hardware was 15K and software is $115/month... Only requirement is that he comes with me.... that's perfectly fine lol. I'll refrain from posting for now - more to come later, it may be a week or two before I can get things done.

Edit: nearest Audi shop is 15 miles away so I'll be bringing it there for a PPI, on the same day I do my test drive. More to come.

@A8L_New_England

So I was calling to square things up in advance of next week... Dealer asked me to have the PPI done closer to the shop rather than at the Audi dealer 15 miles away... Should I try to convince him to let me do it at Audi (or him do it) or walk away?

Dealer was not at office (out to dinner) when I called last night so I have a scheduled call with him this afternoon.

Funnily enough, Audi dealer put up their own 2015 A8 but I cannot seem to confirm if it has the same reclining rear seats like this first A8 (this other one is also white with black interior)

Carfax is on the dealer website.
