Looking to Buy 2015 A8L with 168k miles
Hi All! First time poster here!
I'm in the market for a new car, and stumbled upon this A8L with 168k miles.
I test drove it for about an hour, with a mixture of city and highway driving, and everything felt great!
I'm taking it for a multi-point inspection from Audi on Monday, but was wondering if there was anything to be wary of.
Here is the listing for those interested (please don't try and buy it out from under me lol): https://247autosalespa.com/vdp/20725...mouth-PA-18651

Yes, a litany of expensive problems. Hopefully your dealer will do a thorough job. Good luck!

A high mileage D4 isn't for the faint of heart.

Hey All! Update on the service appointment.
Suspension is bad, as I suspected. Tires were also bald and brakes are awful.
There is also an oil leak which they do not know the cause of.

I was wondering if it's worth fixing the suspension, and investing in new tires/brakes for a car this worn. Brakes would be about $1000 before labor, and tires i can find for around $400-600 for a set of 4. Suspension I'm still unsure of the indy price.

Before I even clicked I thought ‘this better be like $9,900’ not too far off. While it’s missing driver’s assist it’s otherwise completely reasonable
I’m personally not afraid of well maintained high mileage Audis and our friends in Germany prove that you don’t have to be all the time. I’ve had about half a dozen Audis with well over 200k still running like tops. However.. what’s your budget for maintenance and repairs look like? If something goes wrong and you decide you want to sell it then a car with those miles and mechanical issues is going to be very hard to sell

There's just too many nice cars available. Why sink money into an old, unmaintained car with a lot of problems...? At best, you end up with an old, unmaintained car.

If you don't have the budget for a nicer D4, then you won't have the budget for D4 repairs and maintenance anyway.
