This is from a Q5 manual for both tiptronic and stronic but works the same on the s8 (I tried it).
Some key aspects: Engine must be warmed up - no cold launches, and you have to engage within 5 secs.
I’m not 100% certain if the S8 has launch control. I recently bought a 2015 S8 tiptronic and when I try launch control it doesn’t work like it does on all other S lines. I’ve test drove S7s prior to my purchase and the launch control was working solid. Same as my buddies S4. “Launching” the standard S8 feels the same as “launching” any other basic car that doesn’t have launch control. Or am I missing something here? Lol
Lol....I have seen a few different car reviews where they engaged launch control on the S8. The RS cars with the same powertrain (RS6/7) also have launch control. Here is a link to another forum where owners have done it: Question Audi s8 launch control
