Howdy peeps! Was driving my 17 S8+ today and I’ve been staring at this stopped in traffic. It’s been like this since I picked up the car last year, doesn’t look like typical Audi quality or fit and finish. Haven’t been or seen another A8/S8 dash from this angle to see what it looks like. This how it is? Yours like this? Or did this happen to anyone and you fixed it or left it? The leather from the dash looks like it’s unfolded and hanging down into the HUD cutout. Thoughts? Thanks!

Looks like the leather has shrunk and pulled away under there. You can likely readhere it given how much leather is still there. Highly recommend you be leather conditioning your dash if you leave your car in the sun. It’s common to see full leather D4s that aren’t conditioned and garaged that have leather shrinkage around the center defrost vent and even corners being pulled up on each side of the center speaker grille

Another way to combat it is a UV blocking tint for the windshield that doesn’t darken it, like 3M Chrystalline 90%

I’ll check and see what I can do. Picked up the car last summer and had all the windows tinted; 20% all around and 50% on the windshield. I use leather conditioner on the dash, but I have no idea what the previous owner did and the windows weren’t tinted. It didn’t look like a normal Audi fit and finish, so thought I’d drop a line out to get some feedback, so thank you, much appreciated!
