ADVANCED Keyless Go Trouble - Audi A8 2010 D4 NEWEST SHAPE
Hi there, can anyone help with this issue. Its seriously upsetting.
I purchased this car with exec spec so it has advanced keyless Go.
There is no place to insert the key - just has the indent of the key next to the steering wheel.
On the first day I drove this back - it said Low Battery on key - and then when trying to press the start button with Foot on brake, the car engaged - and the MMI popped up about 20% of the way up, then the car would disengage, and the MMI would go back in. ALL OFF.
I tried this ten times, and the same thing would happen over and over.
Holding down the lock button and unlock button would lock the car.
But the car would not engage - nor would the normal sequence start.
MMI pop out and then pop back in.
It was really really troubling.
I dont know why - but after about 10 minutes - it just engaged and started working.
I changed the battery in the KEY - and after this never saw this problem again.
Then last night, I was at a traffic light - turned of the engine to get something out of the boot, went back in, and again, the EXACT same thing happened.
Freaked out I read the handbook - and nothing.
After exiting the car, locking it, unlocking it, fiddling, whatever, it still didnt work.
Then once again, about 15 minutes later - I tried and the car worked and when I came home I started and stopped it 20 times in sequence. NO problems.
What the hell is going on here. Its annoying.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be?
I had this car health checked before buying it, and there were no ERRORS.
The only one issue they said was:
With respect to the fault memory, certain fault codes appear within the system of the car that do not have any bearing on the operation of the vehicle. Audi UK technical by way of a technical bulletin inform us if a particular code exists – in your case code B2000000, state “ do not repair, this entry is harmless and can be ignored”
Any advice - or guidance on what I need to be doing would be appreciated.

Sounds like an issue with the KESSY.
This is true to some extent as per this:
Meaning a TSB?
Audi has no idea what codes are in your vehicle's modules unless they use Guided Fault Finding scan.
No idea what that is referencing, doesn't jive with anything I've ever seen on an Audi.
Recommend using VCDS yourself or having someone with it scan the vehicle for you.
Record any DTCs via saved Autoscan, clear DTCs, check again and after a few driving cycles.
Feel free to post the scans here and we'll have a look.
Without a scan there is no way to diagnose this.
Number Meaning
- 0 Undefined by manufacturer.
- 1 The fault has a strong influence on drivability, immediate stop is required.
- 2 The fault requires an immediate service appointment.
- 3 The fault doesn't require an immediate service appointment, but it should be corrected with the next service appointment.
- 4 The fault recommends an action to be taken, otherwise drivability might be affected.
- 5 The fault has no influence on drivability.
- 6 The fault has a long term influence on drivability.
- 7 The fault has an influence on the comfort functions, but doesn't influence the car's drivability.
- 8 General Note
