Going from OEM 20" wheel to 19" OEM wheel...?
Would I encounter any problems by going from the OEM Audi 20" wheel to the OEM Audi 19" wheel on a 2012 A8L...?
Suspension problems? Speedometer problems I assume?
I like a smooth ride (thus 19" vs. 20") and rather like the look of the 19" wheel vs the 20".

D4 in PA
Winter setup
Summer set up
I purchased dedicated winter snow tires & rims, I went from Summer OEM 265/40/20 to Winter OEM wheels sporting 255/45/19 to maintain proper diameters to maintain speedometer functions. No problems with any car functions whatsoever.

19's are a factory spec for D4, even supposedly the S8. As long as you use OE D4 wheels, they should clear the brake calipers fine. Some non OE wheels may seem big enough diameter wise, but either the offsets or the shaping of the area around the wheel spokes where they meet the wheel drum may not fit.

Tires sizes....
I'm new here and I was reading that the 19 inches tires ride a lot smoother than the 20's. I currently have an 2016 Audi A8L. It has 20's on them and thinking about getting some 19's.
With this type car I'm looking for smoothness. Not the 20 inch look per say.... I guess I'm old school and rather have a smooth ride if anything.

I up-sized my 20 inch tires and not only do they get much cheaper, have a 50K mileage warranty -but the ride improved. Its all about how much sidewall rubber is there to absorb the road noise as far as I can tell.

So you went 21s? Or just up the high or width of the tires?

I have the 19's with Michelin snow tires on our car for about 4 months of the year (Audi OE wheels). Summer tires are on the OE 20's. I do think the ride is a bit better with the 19's (just did about 65 miles today, first time on the 19's this fall.
