In particular, someone should get dirty and look thoroughly underneath. Take off all covers, look for any leaks whatsoever, look at all suspension parts, seals, CV boots, etc.
When I have done this on prior Audis, I usually find literally thousands of dollars of repairs--at dealer prices. On D3 W12, they said they put over 20 hours in on my final punch list hurrah. Both valve cover gaskets, front torque motor mount, and about half a dozen other things I found. And, you only pay one relatively modest deductible matter the number of items per visit.

If that is the case, go over car with fine tooth comb. Run full VCDS scan. Do essentially a pre-purchase mechanic's type inspection. Or, pay an indy to do one who knows Audi's.

Make sure the engine harness is not soaked with coolant. (was a recall) A coolant leak could damage the entire engine harness, and they replace the whole harness if it is damaged, otherwise they just fix the leak I believe. I have had the harness replaced in 2 a8s with the 4.2. (huge job) for free at the dealer, out of warranty.
